Bing celebrates the amazing and heroic women of 2013 – politician Gabriel Giffords, who survived being shot in the head; Deb Cohan, who danced in the operating room before her mastectomy and; Antoinette Tuff, who helped save lives by calmly talking to a shooter, to name a few—in a new commercial that features a very familiar song.

Other amazing women, including the late Margaret Thatcher, swimmer Diana Nyad and education activist Malala Yousafzai, are featured while Sara Bareilles' empowering anthem 'Brave' plays in the background. The song, a support anthem about coming out, has been used in many situations that celebrate courage and heroism. Or in this case, heroine-ism. The song appears on Bareilles' Grammy-nominated, 2013-released album 'The Blessed Unrest.'

The spot is meant to spotlight what spirit, courage and perseverance can achieve. Let's hope the bravery of these women inspires us in 2014 and beyond.

Be brave in 2014, ladies!
