Blake Shelton Gets Seriously Romantic in CMA Awards Performance
We're so used to seeing Blake Shelton goofing around on 'The Voice' that we sometimes forget he can also be a serious performer.
And serious he got during his performance tonight (Nov. 6) at the 47th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tenn. Make that seriously romantic even. The 'Voice' coach sang the ballad 'Mine Would Be You' off his best-selling 'Based on a True Story,' which won him his first-ever Album of the Year honor at the CMAs only moments earlier.
For the song, Blake and his whole band were dressed in dark clothes. The stage was dramatically lit, backed by hundreds of candles -- all the better to set the mood.
Feet planted, Shelton delivered the song with all the emotion he could muster, saving his smile for the standing ovation he received at its end.
