Contrary to various reports that surfaced last week, U2 frontman Bono is a-OK. It was reported that Bono was suffering from chest pains while visiting the South of France, and was hospitalized for heart palpitations. However, a rep for the singer is now saying this is completely inaccurate.

"Despite press stories to the contrary, Bono has not suffered a recent health scare," a spokeswoman for Bono said in a statement (via Rolling Stone). "Reports of his being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment are untrue. Bono is in good health and enjoying a family holiday in the south of France."

Apparently, the vocalist did in fact visit the Princess Grace hospital in Monaco, but he was only there to undergo a routine physical exam.

Bono's friend Julian Lennon (the son of John Lennon) also denied the reports last week, taking to Facebook to write, "For those whom are fans of Bono, the recent reports about him going to hospital with chest pains this weekend, were completely false … He did, however, go for a regular check up last week, but was given the all clear! He’s in fine form!"

We're certainly glad to hear this news!
