The third installment of the popular Bridget Jones movies doesn't hit theaters until mid-September, but a new trailer just popped up online, giving further insight into the film's plot.

Set 15 years after the first movie, Bridget Jones's Baby follows Renee Zellweger's titular character, after she becomes unexpectedly pregnant. She soon realizes the father could be either her ex Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth) or a new love interest Jack Qwant, played by Patrick Dempsey. The trailer fails to lean too heavily in either direction, giving viewers little insight into which character will ultimately be revealed as the father, but it does a fair job showcasing the tone of the third installment will as remain light and funny as its predecessors.

As we reported earlier, unlike the first two films, the third installment will not adhere to the third book, titled Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. The plot instead has been inspired by columns written by the series' author Helen Fielding.

Ed Sheeran, meanwhile, will also appear in the film, though there's no official word yet as to what role he'll play. He did talk about the experience on Instagram, writing in a caption, "Spent the day being an actor in the new Bridget Jones movie. Loved it, you’re gonna love it too."

Check out the official trailer for Bridget Jones's Baby above, and be sure to check out the movie when it officially hits theaters on September 16.
