The nominations for the 2016 Brit Awards are officially in, and Adele, unsurprisingly, is nominated for four awards along with fellow UK-based musicians James Bay and Years & Years. Calvin Harris and Jess Glynne follow close behind with three nominations each.

The late Amy Winehouse is posthumously nominated for British Female Solo Artist following the success of the documentary Amy, and One Direction -- whose first Brit Awards win back in 2012 led to a longstanding grudge from Captial FM following an acceptance speech from Harry Styles where he incorrectly thanked Radio 1 for their continued support -- are up for two awards.

Little Mix (who, bafflingly, neglected to earn a nomination for British Group) were recently added to the show's roster of performers, along with Justin Bieber, Adele, Jesse Glynne, Coldplay, James Bay and The Weekend.

The 2016 Brit Awards will take place at London's O2 Arena on February 24 and will include a tribute to David Bowie, who died after an 18-month battle with cancer earlier this week (January 10).
