It looks like Britney Spears is back to doing what she does best: making music!

Yesterday, Sept. 4, Spears shared a photo on Instagram of her recording in the studio. She was careful to not share any real details, however, simply writing, "Studio today! Yay!"

The 32-year-old singer has not released any new music since last November's 'Britney Jean' album, which -- compared to Spears' other albums -- underperformed with only around 200,000 albums sold in the United States. In contrast, her 2008 'Circus' album sold 1.7 million copies while 2011's 'Femme Fatale' sold around 770,000.

But if there's anything we've learned about Spears, it's that you can never count her out. 'Circus' proved to be a triumphant success for Spears after her 2007 album, 'Blackout,' underperformed with only 1 million copies sold, a low for her at the time.

She is also newly single again after a very public break up with her ex-boyfriend, David Lucado, due to allegations of infidelity on his part. With that in mind, there is probably plenty of ripe material for her to draw inspiration from.

Spears is also continuing her 'Piece of Me' Vegas stay at Planet Hollywood, where she will continue to perform until the end of 2015.
