A 'Criminal' is set to be released next week, but there's no need to panic -- it's just Britney Spears' new video. According to MTV, no exact date has been set, and everyone involved has been deliberately quiet in order to build buzz.

"Just saw the final cut of the 'Criminal' video... It's so hot. Can't wait for you guys to see it next week," Spears teased on Twitter. Director Chris Marrs Piliero was even more secretive, revealing only, "Not a whole lot I'm allowed to say about the @britneyspears 'Criminal' vid other than that I love this video and can't wait for it to come out," he tweeted. "Oh, and that she looks gorgeous in it... Pretty sure it's cool for me to say that..."

What we do know about the video: Spears carries a prop gun and costars with real-life boyfriend, Jason Trawick, and that the video came under fire last month for its violent imagery (for which the pop princess didn't apologize).

Britney fans should be excited for a concept video. 'Criminal' is a slower song and Spears has been taking it easy with her choreography. A good story line and lots of action should compensate for the lack of 'Slave 4 U' style moves. Her only crime is making us wait this long to see the finished product!
