Like a true southerner, Britney Spears is planning to invite a big group of folks over for dinner. But like a true celebrity, she's doing it for charity.

Spears will host 'An Evening of Southern Style,' a big meal of southern dishes served smack dab in the middle of Beverly Hills, in benefit of the St. Bernard Project, which continually gives money to Hurricane Katrina relief in Louisiana.

"I am so honored to be a party of this cause," the 'Till the World Ends' megastar comments. "Louisiana will always be a part of my soul." It will really be a family affair, too, because not only does the benefit build new homes for families, Britney's dad, Jamie, will be the one doing the cooking. Guests can anticipate items like Louisiana shrimp and grits, jambalaya and soft shell crab fish fry -- true southern delicacies.

The United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area will match the first $100,000 in donations made to St. Bernard Project during the event, which takes place at private residence in Beverly Hills on May 11.

To date, the project has rebuilt homes for more than 350 families in need. Spears will set out on her 'Femme Fatale' Tour on June 16 in California.
