Thing Named After Britney Spears: The Britney Spears Law -- an anti-paparazzi bill that never passed in Congress

A few years back, when Britney Spears was at the peak of her meltdown, you may remember she had to be taken to the hospital by way of ambulance. Well, what you may not know is that all of the hulabaloo surrounding her trip to a Los Angeles ER (a police motorcade, helicopters and intervention specialists) cost roughly $25,000 of hardworking taxpayers' money.

After word of this steep bill -- mostly to blame on the paparazzi, who were furiously trying to get pictures of Britney in her most vulnerable state -- got out, L.A. City Councilman Dennis P. Zine proposed the Britney Spears Law. The bill was submitted to Congress in 2008, also using cases like Princess Diana's death as evidence, in order to protect celebrities and people alike from the very intrusive paparazzi and the havoc they may cause in instances such as this.

Although it never passed, we think this still might be a good idea, especially after a paparazzo was killed in an auto accident earlier in 2013 as he was trying to snap a picture of Justin Bieber driving.
