Britney Spears, who released her new album, 'Femme Fatale,' in March, will now put on her songwriter hat to lend a hand to 18-year-old Selena Gomez. The 'Till the World Ends' hitmaker is working on co-writing a song called 'Whiplash' for the teen's forthcoming new record.

Gomez, who is a self-proclaimed huge fan of Spears, is even planning a tribute to the pop icon on her summer tour, which kicks off next month. "I"m so stoked about [the tribute] because I love Britney," she told MTV News in March. "I was like, 'I have to do it.' I wanna do a mash-up of all her songs and just go for it!"

E! News recently chatted with Brit's rep, who confirmed that the superstar will help pen 'Whiplash,' for Selena's new record. This is a big deal for the Disney star, but also a big deal for the music world, considering Miss Spears didn't write, or help write, any of the hits on 'Femme Fatale.'

We're happy that Selena is living her dream, and can't wait to give you guys a first listen of the song. Gomez's tour with Selena Gomez & the Scene kicks off May 7 and runs through September, and her (currently unnamed) new album, which includes 'Whiplash,' drops on June 28.
