Bruno Mars Brings Doo-Wop to the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards With ‘Just the Way You Are’ Performance

Bruno Mars brought his 'Doo Wops and Hooligans' to the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards on June 19 during his performance of 'Just the Way You Are.' The adorable musician was all frontman during his performance, standing at his mic stand while a full band donning matching tuxes backed Mars.

For his 'Just the Way You Are' live rendition at the MMVAs, Mars switched up the tempo of the poppy track, giving it a funky old-school, doo-wop vibe. His smooth vocals were accompanied by a huge horn section, as well as many other instrumentalists, as Mars grooved along to the music.

During the last leg of the song, Mars stepped out on the glass runway that led out into the crowd of screaming fans. He took the time to serenade a few lucky ladies, who were crying and hyperventilating at the sight of the cute crooner. Mars also said, "Fellas, grab your girl and tell her this" before hitting a sexy, ultra-high note.

Mars had one of the most interesting performances of the night at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards. The 'Grenade' singer ditched the stage theatrics, unlike fellow performers Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez, and let his music and voice truly shine.
