BTS Debut Alternate ‘Idol’ Video Featuring Nicki Minaj (WATCH)

Two weeks after breaking the internet with their video for "Idol", BTS have returned with an alternate version featuring Nicki Minaj, who they collaborated with for a remix of the Love Yourself: Answer track.

The new mv, released on Thursday (September 6), features the K-pop group shifting through much of same colorful, cartoonish imagery featured in the original. Except in this time, Nicki Minaj shows up for her verse in a short, neon yellow wig, posing on a bright, pattern-filled couch and snapping a few selfies.

Minaj’s version of “Idol” only appears on digital editions of Love Yourself: Answer, and was announced mere hours before the record dropped. The album recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and marks BTS' second No. 1 effort to date, following their history-making Love Yourself: Tear in May. The septet remains the only K-pop act to score a No. 1 album on the U.S. charts.

The original "Idol" video also broke several records, passing Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" as YouTube's most-viewed video within 24 hours and surpassing 100 million views in record time. The Nicki Minaj-featuring version has already accrued more than 5 million views.
