Congrats are in order for Carly Rae Jepsen. The Canadian cutie has ascended to the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on her rookie run, usurping the top spot from Gotye and his smash 'Somebody That I Used to Know.' It was time for a new numero uno, since Gotye held the slot for eight weeks. Who better to take the crown that Carly Rae?

The song, which was a No. 1 in her native Canada for four weeks, has sold over three million downloads to date, no doubt bolstered by Justin Bieber's support and covers by the likes of Katy Perry. Oh, and Biebs and his girlfriend Selena Gomez also lip synched to the song and the video went viral. You can watch that below.

Jepsen is the first artist since Kesha to hit the top spot on the charts with her very first single. It's CRJ's coronation song in more ways than one. Kesha reigned supreme in 2010, with 'Tik Tok,' which was No. 1 for nine weeks. Before Kesha, Lady Gaga did the same with 'Just Dance' in 2009, which topped the charts for a handful of weeks.

Can Jepsen follow suit and nail more tunes to the top of the charts like the women she is in company with? That remains to be seen. But she is off to a sprinting start with 'Call Me Maybe,' her sugary pop ode to giving someone you just met your digits.

Once again, congrats Carly Rae Jepsen!
