Carly Rae Jepsen Is Named Favorite New Artist of the Year at the 2012 American Music Awards
Have you caught your breath after Pink‘s performance of ‘Try’ yet? No? Good, because the Backstreet Boys are on hand to award the New Artist of the Year statue to Carly Rae Jepsen at the 2012 American Music Awards. And they are looking fiiiine.
Yes, the Backstreet Boys… looking all handsome and dapper in their suits for their mature age. Ahhhhhh. (That’s us screaming/reliving our tweens).
Upon hearing her name announced from a band she probably listened to a decade ago, Jepsen, looking pretty in a short, beige, sequined dress, gave a sweet little kiss to the man to her left, who we now know is her boyfriend and not some lucky stranger who happened to be sitting next to her.
“Oh my goodness, thank you so much… to the fans I am floored. Thank you, wow,” said a gleeful Jepsen, who cutely didn’t think she’d walk away a winner. “I have to thank everyone at Interscope, everyone at Schoolboy Records… Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber,” which was met by loud screams from the now-tweens in the audience.
“And my family, my friends, my boyfriend. This is amazing, thank you so so so so much. Wow.”
