Carly Rae Jepsen Sparkles With ‘Call Me Maybe’ at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards
Carly Rae Jepsen followed Justin Bieber (who helped bring her to prominence in America after discovering her song on the radio in their native Canada), by performing 'Call Me Maybe' on tonight's (May 20) Billboard Music Awards.
The Biebs was a tough act to follow, since he owned it, thanks to his performance of 'Boyfriend,' where he looked and acted like a mini Michael Jackson with his white gloves, smooth moves and full on production.
Even so, Jepsen's positioning in the run of show was not a bad thing. She is closely associated with The Biebs, so performing right after him only strengthened that impression and reminded Beliebers of their connection.
CRJ held her own with her bouncy, bubbly rendition of her smash hit 'Call Me Maybe.' She sparkled, quite literally. We loved her silvery, glittery leggings and sparkly green top, which she paired with white sneakers. She was stylish and street at once. And when she sings, she comes to life. Her bubbly stage personality is infectious and she's super adorbs.
The crowd sang along as Carly jumped up and down and bounced all over the stage. What a cutie and what a catchy song. It sticks to your skull, that's for sure.
We'd be hard pressed to find a boy who wouldn't call her if they got her digits. There's no maybe about it.
