Carrie Underwood just hit a serious milestone in her career.

With over 4.5 million new Gold and Platinum certifications thanks to her Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album, Carrie has now earned herself the title of RIAA's top country artist on their Digital Single ranking, as her total number of certifications has now surpassed 28 million across 20 songs.

Not only is this a major accomplishment for Carrie as an artist in her own right, but it offers her a spot among the ranks of the Top 5 female artists in the history of the RIAA’s Digital Single Program, which includes pop stars like Rihanna and Katy Perry who are known as hugely successful singles artists.

Carrie's latest certification comes in the form of a Gold Digital Single for her recent hit “Little Toy Guns.” She's also received her highest RIAA Digital Single accomplishment in the form of a 5x-Platinum certification for her huge hit, “Before He Cheats.” That certification puts her in pretty elite company — she’s officially one of only five country artists in the history of the RIAA to ever achieve such a feat.

In other news, Carrie is set to host the upcoming 49th CMA Awards with Braid Paisley on November 4 — something that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise for those of you who tune in each year. The pair have been hosting the show for the past seven years...and will probably do it for seven more.

Carrie is currently working on her fifth studio album, a follow-up to 2012’s Blown Away.
