Only a snippet of Casey Desmond's audition on 'The Voice' aired during the show's second episode, but it didn't take long to notice her flair for style and her unique vocal talents.

The scarlet-haired singer from Boston was raised by musical parents, and is an avid collector of synthesizers and eclectic music toys. Her family's living room doubles as a music venue called the Magic Room.

The 24-year-old Desmond has won several songwriting awards and has already released two full-length albums (2005's 'Casey Desmond' and 2007's 'No Disguise') and an EP (2008's 'Chilly Allston'). She recently released a new single, 'Talking to God,' in an advance of a forthcoming album.

Desmond was very confident in her song selection going into her blind audition for 'The Voice.' "I was fortunate enough to sing Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way,' which not only has a powerful message, but is also written by a strong, intelligent woman," explains Desmond in a blog post. "I stand behind the lyrics, and it's a really catchy tune."

Desmond's audition earned the approval of coach Adam Levine, who turned around quickly to pick the red-haired songstress for his team.
