Cassadee Pope Gets Emotional on ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’ on ‘The Voice’

Fan favorite Cassadee Pope revealed that the inspiration for her song choice ‘Behind These Hazel Eyes’ by Kelly Clarkson was her father, who divorced from her mother back when she was 11 years old.

Pope hoped her father would reach out to her after her appearance on ‘The Voice,’ but she still hasn’t heard a peep from her dad, which would explain the emotion by her genuinely strong rendition of Clarkson’s song.

Rocking some serious purple highlights, the singer and one-time Hey Monday frontwoman played her guitar on stage and gave it everything she had, even nailing the final sharp note that the best of the best have to work on hitting.

Christina Aguilera admitted that this was her favorite Pope performance as of late, and even though she felt that yes, Pope was struggling to reach the notes, she felt the raw emotion behind the performance outweighed that of the vocals, because not only was it it something she could relate to, but it was something she appreciated.
