Cee Lo Green goes retro while expressing his love for urban nightlife on his latest single, 'Bright Lights Bigger City.'

The track has a lot going on musically, starting with the '80s-style synths that open the song alongside an active string section. The verse brings a funky bassline that has rightfully earned comparisons to 'Billie Jean,' while Green sings about "living for the weekend":

"Here comes that familiar feeling that Friday's famous for / Yeah I'm lookin' for some action, and it's out there somewhere / You can feel the electricity all in the evening air."

After Friday passes, Green decides Saturday is even more fun: "There's something about Saturday night / You can't say what you won't do, cause you know that you just might."

Despite the song's flashy, polished quality, Green told MTV it's a song about the working-class that tries to convey the universal theme of enjoying the weekend. Fittingly, Green performed the track last month on 'Saturday Night Live' in front of a video screen showing shots of New York City at night.

'Bright Lights Bigger City' is the next official single from Green's 'The Lady Killer' album. His most recent hit 'F--- You' shot back up the charts after his Grammy Awards performance, reaching a new peak at No. 7.
