Cee Lo Green forgot where he was at and made a lyrical faux pas at a fundraiser for President Obama in Atlanta on Friday (March 16). The singer and 'Voice' judge decided to perform the explicit version of his chart-topping smash 'F--- You' instead of the censored version 'Forget You,' reports ABC News.

Before Cee Lo started to perform, he flipped the bird to donors and then asked if he could use profanity. WTF? But before anyone could answer him, he crooned 'F--- you,' and later followed with 'ain't that some s---." After realizing his mistake, the Grammy Award-winning singer then switched to the sanitized 'Forget You' lyrics.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to comment on Cee Lo's lyrical faux pas when pressed by reporters aboard Air Force One. Carney did admit, however, that the president is "a fan" of Cee Lo's music and might have his songs on his iPod. Of course, this incident drove the conservatives at Fox News into a tizzy as they turn an innocent moment into a moral outrage.

For his part, Cee Lo seems apologetic about his song gaffe. When a follower tweeted to him, "You have no class at all, very [disrespectful] tonight. #TheVoice should be ashamed of you right now," he replied, "well [they're] not! And it was a mistake sir. All of you heard the song a thousand times so don't get all saint on me."

Granted, the 'F--- You' song has become a worldwide anthem, but he had to know that he couldn't sing the explicit version with the president and wealthy donors sitting in the audience. This wasn't an outdoor festival concert with rowdy teenagers -- this was an upscale fundraising gala.

What do you think? Was Cee Lo Green wrong for singing 'F--- You' at a lavish fundraiser?
