Cee Lo Green strutted like a peacock (or a carnival bird, depending on who you ask) to perform 'Forget You,' alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, during the most inspired and generally whacked-out performance (so far) of tonight's 2011 Grammy Award ceremony.

Perhaps taking a cue from Elton John, the costume-loving soul singer opened the song seated behind a piano wearing a huge, colorful feathery get-up that has to be seen to be believed. Then again, what else would one wear when the backing band is made up entirely of puppets?

Yeah, about that backing band. Brian Henson of the Jim Henson company explained it best to MTV: "We have a live theater show in New York called 'Stuffed and Unstrung,' and we've taken a bunch of the characters from that cast and made them into a band and backup singers for Cee Lo." So it wasn't Animal and Janice, but it was awesome and trippy as all get out.

...and that was all before an A-list Hollywood star, one Gwyneth Paltrow, slinked onto the stage in a sexy outfit with pink roach clips on her ears to sing along. (Guess they couldn't talk her into a bird outfit.)  About this time, Green stopped pretending to play the piano and simply posed in front of this mad wonderful scene he had created.

All we can say is, make this the first YouTube clip you watch if you're reading about this show in the morning.
