TMZ is reporting that Cee Lo Green has been accused of sexual battery, but the site also received a forceful denial from the singer, who insisted that he did nothing inappropriate.

A source with law enforcement reportedly claimed that a woman filed a police report with the LAPD, naming Green as the perpetrator of a sexual assault against her. The source did not say when or where the incident occurred but revealed that detectives visited a restaurant in downtown L.A. to interview several employees in connection with the case.

Green was contacted by TMZ and said, "Nothing ever happened there or anywhere else." He added that he hasn't even visited that particular restaurant in three months. The website says no charges have been filed, and the case hasn't been turned over the prosecutors, meaning the investigation is still in the early evidence-gathering phase.

Sexual battery is no joke, and if evidence comes out that Green may have committed this offense, his career and life could be in big trouble. But he has never been in significant legal trouble and is generally regarded as a gentleman, so we expect the music world to give him the benefit of the doubt for now, especially since no charges have been filed.

In the meantime, the 38-year-old singer continues serving as a judge on 'The Voice' and promoting his brand-new Christmas album 'Cee Lo's Magic Moment,' which dropped on Oct. 30.
