At first, people were going nuts when word got out that the songstress in question had adopted this dog in Oct. 2011. Not because it's weird to go around giving shelter to abandoned or abused animals -- we think she is setting an unbelievable example for her fans and for mankind in general -- but because everyone thought she co-adopted the dog with her uber famous boyfriend!

Their fans began to buzz that the couple were taking a leap into much more serious territory with the adoption of this pup, given that they're both under 25 still (and will be for a while), but news quickly broke that the lady is lovin' this dog solo.
