Chance The Rapper may have lost the award for Best Hip-Hop Video at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards' (the power of "Hotline Bling"...), but thanks to an unexpected rendezvous with pal Beyonce, he definitely won out otherwise.

In a backstage interview with MTV News' Meredith Graves, Chance jokingly warned Drake that he was hot on his heels.

"Drake, I'm also coming for your muscles, so, videos and muscles, I'm on your ass," he said as he felt a hand touch his shoulder. He turned suddenly to notice Queen Bey gingerly greeting him and, naturally, proceeded to flip out. When it comes to Beyonce, composure is a nine-letter word.

"That happened!" Graves observed as Chance abandoned ship and rushed to fawn over Bey. Beyonce moved to greet Graves, too, and said she liked Graves' tattoos — because Bey is benevolent royalty, and intent on making the world a better place.

"That's my life!" Chance said as he woozily wandered back into frame.

"I couldn't have said it better myself," Graves concluded.

And for those not privileged enough to meet Bey in the flesh, the entertainer delivered a Lemonade medley including "Pray You Catch Me," "Hold Up" and "Formation" that will go down in the books. She also won eight awards — bringing her grand total to 24 — and became the biggest VMAs winner ever, because that is what deities do.
