Cher Will Be the Sixth Artist to Receive the ‘Billboard’ Icon Award

Cher announced via Twitter today that she will receive the 2017 Billboard Icon Award. The award, first presented in 2011, is given to musicians as the highest honor at the Billboard Music Awards. According to Billboard, it “recognizes lifetime achievement and an artist’s remarkable and enduring contribution to popular music.”

Cher will be in the company of prestigious past winners: Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Neil Diamond.
