One thing about mothers is that you really, really don't want to mess with their kids -- especially if that mom is the ultimate queen diva, Cher. Cher's son Chaz Bono recently signed on to compete on the 13th season of 'Dancing With the Stars,' and while this should be a celebratory occasion, people are always going to hate.

After the 'Dancing With the Stars' lineup was announced, a large group of people began posting negative remarks about Bono, who is the first transgender person to appear as a contestant on the show. Even though Bono is an adult and can certainly handle his own problems, mama Cher had a few choice words for the people posting the mean and hurtful comments.

On her Twitter account, Cher wrote, "Chaz is being viciously attacked on blogs and message boards about being on DWTS! This is still America right? It took guts to do it ... I support him no matter what he chooses to do ... It took courage to do 'DWTS'! Thank God Chaz has an unlimited supply."

After posting the first initial tweets, Cher, 65, got a little heated. She fired back at the bullies, writing, "Mothers don't stop getting angry with stupid bigots who f--k with their children!" You go, girl!

Bono spoke about his role on the show, saying that he hoped his presence would help spread awareness and acceptance of the LGBT community. "At this point I want people to know that transgender people are just like everyone else. We're not people to be afraid of or misunderstood," Bono tells Us Weekly. "I would love to get that message across."

Bono also spoke about Cher's reaction when she found out the news that her son would be on 'DWTS.' In an interview with Ryan Seacrest (via People), Bono said, "She really thought it was great that I was doing it and wanted to know how I was feeling about it, if I was nervous and how it was going." Well, there is no need to be nervous, Chaz! Your mama and a fleet of fans and supporters have your back!
