Cher has postponed the opening of the second leg of her Dressed to Kill Tour due to an "acute viral infection," according to CNN.

A statement posted on the tour's ticket sales website says, "Cher was diagnosed over the weekend with what doctors termed an 'acute viral infection' and has been required to be on full bed rest for several days."

The second leg of Dressed to Kill was set to begin again on Thursday in Albany, New York, and Saturday in Manchester, New Hampshire. Those dates have been rescheduled for October 6 and 7, respectively.

She is expected to resume the tour as scheduled on Sept. 15 in Allentown, Penn.

The Dressed to Kill Tour is Cher's eighth tour as a solo artist and continues until Nov. 19 where she will play the last date in Charleston, South Carolina. The tour is focused on the release of her new album, 'Closer to the Truth,' but she also has been performing some of her all-time favorites, including 'Believe' and 'If I Could Turn Back Time.'
