Chris Brown cannot stay outta trouble. The singer (and reported new puppy owner) was in what was first considered a fender bender last week. The accident is now being investigated by the LAPD as a hit-and-run, which would be a probation violation that could land him in jail. Yikes.

The fender bender has been upgraded to a hit-and-run investigation, since Breezy allegedly refused to provide his driver's license information to the woman he rear-ended. It was her fault, right?

While Breezy did provide insurance information, it was not the correct details.

Adding insult to injury, the usually tempermental star was cranky and gave the woman an attitude when she asked to hand over his ID.

As anyone who follows the star's exploits is well aware, he is on probation for the 2009 beating of his on-off ex Rihanna -- they are currently off, if you need the latest intel on that saga. One of the conditions of his probation is that he must obey the law. If he broke the law by leaving the scene of an accident without forking over proper documentation, as required by the law, then he violated the terms and could hit the clink for four years.

TMZ reports that the LAPD would like to have a lil' chat wth Breezy, who appears to be a trouble magnet in all aspects of his personal life, yo!
