Bad news for Chris Brown. According to the Huffington Post, his probation was revoked by a judge earlier today (Jan. 15) when it came to light that Chris made his way to a concert without approval, in addition to failing to complete his mandatory community service within the timeframe he was originally given.

Lucky for Chris, the judge did rule that he is to stay a free man until his hearing — set to take place on March 20 — where his probation officers will state his case.

Chris made his way to a show on Jan. 11 in San Jose, which he reportedly needed permission to travel to in conjunction with his probation guidelines. His attorney, Mark Geragos, made the case that Chris had been wrongfully informed he did not need express permission to travel to the show, an explanation the judge accepted. But Chris’ probation was revoked anyway, because of his failure to fulfill his community service.

He was initially ordered to serve 1,000 hours of community service before the end of January, but he still has around 200 hours left.

Probation Officer Carlos Delgado said of Chris, “Though he has shown the ability to be compliant during long stretches of his probation grant, [Brown] continues a pattern of making choices that are counterproductive in his ability to be successful on probation. There is also concern that when he performs or attends at (sic) some of his public events, people will get shot or seriously injured.”

His last sentence is, perhaps, referencing the aforementioned nightclub performance that caused Chris to break his probation, during which five people were injured after gunfire erupted inside the club.

Chris was first sentenced to probation in 2009 for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.
