Chris Brown Parodies Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ [VIDEO]

Of all artists to cover Sam Smith, Chris Brown was not one of the first to come to mind. Still, we were pleasantly surprised to hear the troubled singer croon those opening notes — that is, until he changed up the rest of the chorus.

Taking to Instagram, Brown posted the selfie video with no other caption than “lol,” letting the spoofed lyrics to do the talking.

“Oh, won’t you stay with me?” Brown starts off singing, letting those a cappella notes hit you right in the feels before bursting into the parody. “‘Cause I bought your new weave.”

“Now, I didn’t spend my cheese,” he continues, looking serious as he leads into the last line: “B—-, you owe me.” Yikes!

Is Brown’s ‘Stay With Me’ cover a possible dig at his ex Karrueche Tran, or just a silly parody? The jury’s still out, but you can decide for yourself by watching the vid above.
