Chris Brown’s Mom Reportedly Tells Him to ‘Grow Up’ Following Twitter Rant
After his win for Best R&B Album, Brown tweeted, “HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate F— OFF!” The since-deleted tweets, which a source says were posted by one of Brown’s employees and not the singer himself, caused outrage among some who haven’t forgiven Brown for his assault on Rihanna and felt he shouldn’t have been at the ceremony.
Radar Online quotes a source close to Brown who says, “Joyce is absolutely livid that those vile words and rants were posted on Chris’ Twitter page. She isn’t buying his excuse that he didn’t post it and she has told him that it is his Twitter page, and only he should be posting to it, period. She feels like people were just waiting for a negative reaction to what others were saying about him. She had begged Chris to just ignore it and she is just beside herself that after such successful performances at the Grammys and winning the award, people are now talking about this Twitter controversy.”
After his message to the haters, “RIP Chris Brown” became a trending topic on Twitter, causing him to send out more defensive tweets. As of this morning, only 11 tweets remain on Brown’s feed, one of which is a useful piece of advice from Perez Hilton that Brown re-tweeted: “@chrisbrown This is something I have often been guilty of. Responding in a bad way to negativity. Channel it in a healthier way! Rise above!”
Meanwhile, Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich defended the show’s decision to let Breezy perform, saying, “We’re glad to have him back. I think people deserve a second chance, you know? What he’s done and what he’s done to reclaim his career and seemingly the kind of person that he has become makes him, I don’t even want to use the word ‘eligible,’ but you know, it’s time.”
