Chris Martin recently opened up about his personal life on 'The Ellen Degeneres Show,' joking about his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.

As someone who is notoriously quiet about his life with the Oscar-winning actress, the comment was a surprise to all. Martin admitted that he never speaks about the 'Glee' star, to which the talk show host said, "But you have a great relationship and two precious kids. And we love Gwyneth. She's been here many times."

Martin quickly quipped, "She's been a great beard for me now, for 10 years." Of course, Paltrow is not helping Martin hide his homosexuality, so the remark was all in good fun.

The Coldplay frontman also opened up about the band's latest album, 'Mylo Xyloto,' for which the group just released their second music video. The whimsical footage for 'Paradise' premiered last week.

Martin filmed his 'Ellen' interview on Tuesday, the release day of Coldplay's new album, but the the show is not scheduled to air until Thursday, Oct. 27. Coldplay have been making the rounds on the talk show circuit, appearing on 'The Colbert Report,' 'Today' and more throughout October. The British rockers will also appear as the musical guest on 'Saturday Night Live' on Nov. 12.
