The Late Late Show is quickly becoming one of our favorite talk shows. Case in point: Host James Corden got to the bottom of the now-viral moment of Chris Pine crying at the 2015 Oscars.

"It was a wonderful performance and it was really moving," Chris explained. "A lot of people gave me a lot of crap ... I would say, as an actor, the only time in my life that I think I'll ever be able to produce a single tear down my cheek -- at the Academy Awards."

As you may recall, John Legend and Common's performance of "Glory" at the Academy Awards was so profound that the audience was visibly emotional. The cameras caught a particularly poignant moment of Chris crying as he watched the singers. Clips of the performance went viral as viewers reacted to the lone tear that rolled down Chris' cheek.

While the performance was no doubt stirring, James made a very valid point: "When I cry, I look disgusting. Look at this! Have you ever seen anyone look so handsome whilst they're crying?" Literal same.

James lightened the mood by joking that he knew Chris was a good crier based upon the movie Into the Woods (which the late-night host happened to appear in as well). In the film, Chris played the most handsome prince ever (seriously, that hair), while James played the Baker.
