Much has been made of the bickering chemistry between Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine on 'The Voice' -- but when the subject was raised again during her recent interview with the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph, she summed it up pretty simply: "If a guy’s gonna come and try to get in there and be competitive with me, well, I’m kind of a ball-buster myself."

It's all for fun, of course. "Um, you know, I think that we’re both really passionate people," she added. "I live very much in the moment on the show – I don’t watch the show back – I feel what I feel, I say what I say, and then I leave it be."

And in any event, the duo did record together for the Maroon 5/Xtina duet single 'Moves Like Jagger' -- which, she points out, was a massive hit: "I don’t think they’ve experienced that kind of success before."

With a divorce and countless rumors about her personal life hitting the press over the last couple of years, it's easy to assume that her new album, 'Lotus,' offers some personal commentary on what Aguilera has been through since her last album, 2010's 'Bionic,' was released.

She played coy during the interview, saying, "There are endless stories out there. But it’s a matter of being in this business, and it’s a matter of taking the punches. And hey, at the end of the day, if I’m getting to do what I love, and share my message and my stories with the world, and share my voice and my gift with my fans and bring out a positive message, then so be it, right? I’ll take the bullets."
