Christina Aguilera, who flubbed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and who tripped while performing at the Grammys, was reportedly arrested for public intoxication early this morning, TMZ reports. 2010 and 2011 have not been going swimmingly for the beleaguered singer, whose June 2010 album 'Bionic' tanked and whose marriage crumbled this fall.

Aguilera, 30, was reportedly with her new boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, whom she met on the set of her film, 'Burlesque.' Rutler, 25, was supposedly under the influence and was the one doing the driving. The duo was booked at a West Hollywood Sheriff's station at 2:45AM.

TMZ sources said the singer was "extremely intoxicated" and "unable to take care of herself."

Aguilera was booked on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication. Meanwhile, Rutler's bail was set at $30,000. The source also said had Rutler not been pulled over for his erratic driving and subsequently arrested for DUI, Aguilera would not have been arrested, as well.

It was later revealed that the singer was jailed for her own safety and was released only after she was able to navigate and think on her own.
