Christina Aguilera is moving full speed ahead. EW reports that Aguilera will appear on the coaching panel of the new singing competition series, ‘The Voice,’ which will begin airing on NBC with its April 26th premiere.

Aguilera, who is best known for her powerhouse voice -- despite a recent bout of bad press thanks to her National Anthem flub at the Super Bowl and recent alcohol-fueled antics -- joins previously announced coaching panelists Cee-Lo Green and Adam Levine.

“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Aguilera said in a statement. “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee-Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice.’”

‘The Voice’ differs from other reality competition shows in that the singers perform with the judges' backs to them, so they can make their assessment on the talent of the vocalist alone, without regard for look or image.
