YouTube sensation Christina Grimmie has landed an opening slot for Selena Gomez's We Own the Night tour, and now the 17-year-old is opening up about her music, her ties with the Disney star and the exciting summer run.

Having the unsigned artist as an opener isn't entirely out of left field -- Grimmie is managed by Gomez's stepfather, Brian Teefy. “Selena’s mom, she saw me singing ‘My Heart Will Go On‘ by Celine Dion, and then she saw the Miley Cyrus medley, and that led her to ask Brian [her husband] to go out and find me," the pop pianist tells EW.

Armed with 'Find Me,' her first EP of original songs, Grimmie is ready to hit the road, and people are watching. Her EP debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard 200, and she currently boasts over 983,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

This won't be the first time the unconventional teen has shared the stage with Gomez -- Grimmie also performed at the third annual Concert for Hope, as well as Unicef's 2010 acoustic concert, alongside the pop star. As for her set list, Grimmie says it will include a healthy mix of originals and covers, and she has “a really cool medley up [her] sleeve." Maybe Gomez will help with backing vocals!
