Tonight on 'American Idol,' Colton Dixon opened the show with an incredibly emotional rendition of Lifehouse's 'Everything,' which the teary-eyed crooner cited as his "favorite worship song of all time." It was a great pick for Dixon, especially considering the remaining nine contestants were tasked with choosing songs from their own personal idols for tonight's episode.

Before he took the stage looking like a rock star with his spiky haircut and white jacket, 'Idol' mentor and living legend Stevie Nicks told him his song choice was spot on and that it "is what I want someone to sing to me" because it speaks to a woman's soul. Accompanied by violinists and guitarists onstage, Dixon gave an emotional performance, and his vocals rose and fell perfectly with the song's tempo. It was apparent that Lifehouse's 'Everything' really holds a special meaning for Dixon, and he finished the song on his knees.

The crowd absolutely loved Dixon, and so did the judges. Steven Tyler told the 20 year old, "You are a dream come true for a judge on 'Idol'... You make the song bleed, you've got perfect pitch and you've got that star quality." Jenny from the block agreed, saying, "You sang it beautifully and you sang it with so much emotion, but still with composure and control." Finally, Randy Jackson said that the most important thing an artist can have is "believability," and that Dixon's got that and then some.

Congratulations to the Christian rocker on another job well done! Tune in tomorrow to see if he makes it through to the top eight!
