Perhaps to match the stark beauty of the Irish Highlands around her, Courteney Cox stripped down her Hollywood veneer and came clean about cosmetic regrets with Bear Grylls on the latest episode of Running Wild

After pulling a dead sheep from the moors and eating a maggot (the glamour!), the Friends actress chronicled her time in the limelight from the early '90s — when her fame first began to mount — until now. More specifically, Cox — now 52 — lamented how she's succumbed to pressures to go to certain lengths to appear young.

"...sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and go, 'Oh, God.' Like, you look horrible,” she said. “I have done things that I regret, and luckily they're things that dissolve and go away. So that's good, because it's not always been my best look."

Cox said now she's resigned herself to a "let it be" mantra, and is embracing the days to come. Still, it's not always easy.

"I think there's a pressure to maintain [your looks], not just because of fame, but just, you know, being a woman in this business," she said. "Getting older has not been...I don't think it's the easiest thing. I think I was trying to keep up with getting older, trying to chase that...it's something you can't keep up with."

In August 2015, Cox told Closer magazine that she'd had botox, but had never undergone any extreme procedure. "I won’t go under the knife," she said.
