It is not unusual for pop stars to be smack dab in the middle of a rowdy crowd. However, this weekend, 80s pop icon Cyndi Lauper had a slightly unconventional encounter with a mob of people in an airport.

While Lauper was waiting at an airport in Buenos Airs, Argentina, many fliers became enraged after a series of flights were delayed. Instead of sitting by idly, Lauper -- who, ironically, looked as if she was trying to conceal her identity by wearing a dark, hooded cloak and big black sunglasses -- took on the crowd in an attempt to pacify them.

In order to do this, Lauper did what she knows best; the singer grabbed a microphone at a nearby desk and began singing her 1983 smash hit 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.' As soon as Lauper began belting out the tune, people gathered around and began to smile and laugh as they sang along with the singer.

After more than 25 years since it's release, it is obvious that Lauper's biggest hit can still bring a smile to even the grumpiest of faces!
