Damien Gurganious of ‘The Biggest Loser’ Found Dead at 38

Sad news to report. According to US Weekly, Damien Gurganious of ‘The Biggest Loser’ fame was found dead on Nov. 24 at the age of 38.

Damien appeared on season seven of ‘The Biggest Loser’ with his then-fiancee Nicole Brewer Gurganious back in 2009. The pair was eliminated three weeks into the competition, but went on to marry in August 2009.

According to his wife Nicole’s Facebook page, Damien’s death is being attributed to a rare autoimmune disorder called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura that suddenly caused bleeding in his brain.

Nicole went on to Facebook to talk about her husband and to share some thoughts on what is undoubtedly a devastating loss: "All of you who knew Damien can attest to his generous and loving spirit, his outgoing and gregarious personality, and his caring and compassionate nature." She went on to say: "Damien always desired to bring out the best in those around him by offering encouragement, support and love, often couched in his own hilarious and sage adages."

'The Biggest Loser' is reportedly planning on honoring Damien by airing an in-memoriam card before the Dec. 11 episode of the show. We'd like to express our deepest condolences to the Gurganious family. Our thoughts are with Nicole and the rest of Damien's family during this incredibly difficult time.
