Sad news for Farrelly Brothers fans, as an actor who frequently appears in their films has passed away.

TMZ has learned that Danny Murphy has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 59.

Murphy is best known for his cameo roles in movies by the Farrelly brothers, such as 'There's Something About Mary,' 'Kingpin,' 'Shallow Hal' and 'Stuck on You.' His last appearance in one of their movies was in the comedy 'Hall Pass' in 2011.

Murphy was a quadriplegic who lost the use of his legs at the age of 19 during a diving accident in Martha's Vineyard. He went on to major in Criminal Justice at Stonehill College and became a successful businessmen before becoming an actor. Director Peter Farrelly, who was a childhood friend and with Murphy on the day of his accident, cast Murphy in his first role in 'Kingpin.'

Recently, he has spent time in Florida away from acting, where he's been involved as an activist for disabled actors.
