Many pop and dance music listeners already consider David Guetta to be the world's best DJ, and now DJ Magazine has made it official, putting the French artist at the top of its annual Top 100 DJs list.

Guetta knocks off Armin Van Buuren, who falls to No. 2 after four consecutive years in the top spot. Tiesto holds down No. 3, while big names Deadmau5 (No. 4) and Afrojack (No. 7) also appear in the Top 10.

"I've had amazing success as a producer, but I always saw myself first of all as a DJ," Guetta tells the publication. "So in the same way that I made a double album where one disc is pop and the other electronic, it's also very important for me. As much as I want to speak to a wider audience, I still want to speak to my original audience -- the clubbers, party people and the DJs. Those who encouraged me, and are my roots."

Guetta's latest release, 'Nothing But the Beat,' includes collaborations with a host of A-list superstars, including Usher, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Hudson, and Lil Wayne.

Other names on DJ Magazine's list familiar to U.S. listeners include Skrillex at No. 19, Benny Benassi at No. 27, Daft Punk at No. 28, Martin Solveig at No. 29, Calvin Harris at No. 34, and Boy George at No. 90. See the complete list is at djmag.com.
