Deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin turned Stubbs BBQ in Austin into a club last night (March 12) at SXSW, when the EDMers joined forces for a collaborative set.

The twosome performed at the packed SXSW Interactive Party, which closed the digital portion of the festival as well as being part of the opening night of the music part of the event, which runs through Saturday.

Check out footage from the event. You'll notice that Deadmau5 is performing without his mouse ears and mask, which are his signature. It's as though he was performing as Joel Zimmerman, alongside Richie Hawtin, whom he clearly has mad respect for. Maybe ditching his persona's accessories was his way of paying tribute to Hawtin, an EDM forefather.

Fair warning, though. If you get a headache or dizzy from flashing lights, then you probably only want to watch a little bit of this 11-minute clip. Or just crank the volume and listen instead of watching, since EDM music is as audio as it is visual, and Deadmau5 and Hawtin are pioneers of the genre.
