In the past, 17-year-old 'American Idol' contestant DeAndre Brackensick has struggled with nerves onstage. However, tonight when he was tasked to sing a song from the '80s, the curly haired crooner blew away the crowd and judges with his pretty much flawless cover of DeBarge's 'I Like It.'

Prior to the hitting the stage, Brackensick was mentored by No Doubt's Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal, and although he told the duo, "I get really nervous," he could've fooled us tonight! His delivery of the soulful DeBarge tune was unbelievable, and by far his best performance to date. He hit a wide range of notes opposed to his usual falsetto, worked the crowd and even grooved along to the baby makin' music while flipping his gorgeous mane.

After Brackensick received a huge round of applause the audience and judges, Jennifer Lopez told him, "I like it. I like it a lot! … It was all very natural. You sounded amazing." Steven Tyler also praised the teen's "captivating" rendition of the 1982 hit, and Randy Jackson told him, "It was the perfect kind of song for you… You could be a 2012 version of DeBarge." We would definitely buy that record!
