Demi Lovato Shows Her Rocker Side With ‘Give Your Heart a Break’ on ‘American Idol’

Teen queen Demi Lovato hit the 'American Idol' stage tonight (March 15) to perform her latest single 'Give Your Heart a Break.' To think that it was only a year ago that Lovato began to slowly but surely mount her post-treatment comeback. Now, look at our gal! She exuded confidence and as usual, she owned it from the minute she opened her mouth.

Lovato was a vision as she started the song out while seated on the steps. She looked fab and rocker chic in a mostly black ensemble that consisted of a fitted leather jacket with major shoulder pads and grommet details, shimmery leggings, sky high heels and a silvery scarf. Her mega-long hair is now a reddish shade that she wears well. She's become a bit of a hair chameleon lately, changing hues with increasing frequency, which is a bit of a trend among our fave pop divas (see Katy Perry). Nevertheless, while performing her upbeat single, Lovato tossed that glossy, wavy mane around like it was nobody's business.

This performance also reminded us how beautifully Demi Lovato can actually sing. We're already well aware of the devotion she inspires amongst Lovatics because of her status as a role model for young people with self-esteem issues -- but Lovato first attracted those very fans because she can sing her butt off. That's exactly what she did tonight on 'Idol.'
