Update, 10/16: Demi Lovato and Fall Out Boy's "Irresistible" has arrived, and the delightful video co-stars Instagram dog star Doug the Pug, among other pups. Demi and Patrick Stump's voices are a well-matched pair, and the anthem-rock sound looks good on Demi. Listen and watch above, and let us know what you think.

Original post: Demi Lovato's having a huge week: Her Confident album finally drops on Friday, she's the musical guest on this week's Saturday Night Live hosted by Tracy Morgan, AND the world will hear her collaboration with Fall Out Boy in just a few days, too.

The pop-rock act has re-recorded "Irresistible," the opening track on this year's American Beauty/American Psycho album. Not unlike Jack Antonoff's Terrible Thrills Vol. 2, which reworked the songs of his Strange Desire Bleachers album with all-female vocalists, Pete Wentz & co. have hand-picked a great choice for a new guest vocalist.

"'Irresistible' always felt like it could become something else, something exciting, strange, beyond," Wentz wrote on Medium, providing some context for the project. "I think Demi Lovato has one of the most powerful voices today. So we worked through an afternoon and she just got it. Excited for you guys to hear this new version of the song on Friday."

That's right — the new single is just days away. It's likely a fruitful team-up for both, as it'll juice up renewed interest in FOB's January album, and show the world just one more facet of Demi's range.

Fall Out Boy has announced Wintour, a tour with AWOLNATION, that kicks off next year. Demi hasn't yet announced a supporting tour for Confident, but there almost certainly will be one. The singer did dispel an apparent rumor that she'd be doing some sort of residency, tweeting, "I never said there wouldn't be a tour....... Just not "7 shows" at some random theater claiming I'll be there when I'm not." Okay then!
