Since publicly disclosing her own struggle with bipolar disorder, Demi Lovato has become an outspoken advocate on mental health and the surrounding stigmas. The 21-year-old's most recent outreach is through a partnership with the Mental Health Listening & Engagement Tour, during which she'll speak on key issues to raise awareness for those living with mental illnesses.

In the introductory video, the singer speaks candidly on her own battle with bipolar disorder. “Bipolar depression really got my life off track," she shared, "but today I am proud to say I am living proof that someone can live, love, and be well with bipolar disorder when they get the education, support and treatment they need.”

The 'Neon Lights' star said of her new partnership: "I will be learning from some of the most amazing mental health advocates while sharing my own story so that I can hopefully be a source of inspiration to others. I want to shine a light on the people out there who, like me, are learning to live well with mental illness by getting the right diagnosis and finding the right treatment plan."

It's great that Demi is so actively participating in a cause that means quite a lot to her! Watch the video above to hear her speak more about mental illness and how she'll continue to be an advocate.
