Demi Lovato + One Direction’s Niall Horan Go on a Date After 2012 MTV VMAs

After months of mutual crushing, Demi Lovato and One Direction's Niall Horan finally went on a date after the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. We're pretty much squealing at all of this cuteness.

A source told Us Weekly that Lovato, who won Best Video With a Message, and Horan, whose group snagged Best Pop Video, Best New Artist and Most Shareworthy, that the pair went out for dinner after the awards -- with no other pals in sight! The duo hit up L.A.'s Pink Taco restaurant, with no other 1D members or entourages with them.

The timing of the romance is almost suspiciously convenient: Demi's new season of 'X Factor' premieres next week, while Horan and One Direction are gearing up to begin promotion of 'Take Me Home,' due in November, with their first single, 'Live While We're Young,' due on Oct. 1 and hitting radio on Sept. 24. However, it's just as likely that both stars, who have been hard at work touring, recording and filming, simply weren't in the same place at the same time until the VMAs.

We're hoping Horan pulled out all the stops for our girl Demi, because she recently pledged to not date at all -- and it's gonna take one helluva guy to make her change her mind. Somehow, though, we think Niall may be just the guy for the job. We're so excited for this, seriously -- they're cuter than a basket of kittens on their own, and together? So. Precious!
