Last year, Demi Lovato faced her share of personal struggles in her life and career when the 19-year-old singer/actress checked herself out of a tour with the Jonas Brothers and into a treatment facility for physical and emotional issues.

During the rough time, Lovato says she found out who some of her true friends were, two of which are high-profile faces.

"I feel like there are some people that you’re friends with that talk to you on Twitter or you text, but the people that are really there for me are the people that were there for me when I went into treatment," Lovato tells Billboard [quotes via BSC Kids]. "The people that were calling me while I was in there were Kim Kardashian and Selena Gomez. Those two girls, they meant the world to me. They still do."

Lovato completed her treatment in January of 2011, emerging looking better than ever. During her time in the facility, she also credited her loyal and loving fans for standing by her side, giving her the strength and motivation to pull through.

Last month, Lovato released her third studio album, 'Unbroken.' The album was a project in which she started last summer, prior to receiving her treatment. The album's first single, 'Skyscraper,' is at radio now.
